Knitting Factory Presents
Esmé Patterson, Tim Pourbaix , Lovechild
Denver, CO’s Esmé Patterson has been making waves all around the country since going solo in 2012 (she was previously in Denverbased Paper Bird). Her voice is smooth and sweet when she wants it to be, and then fully rock and roll when you least expect it. Each of Patterson’s songs listens like an intensely personal diary entry, and you’ll likely find yourself relating to all of them with wideeyed wonder.
Tim Pourbaix is that secret worth sharing, that rare artist, whose voice and song craft sound instantly familiar. A master solo performer from the backroom parlors of Brooklyn steps forward with a fully articulated, fourteen song, masterpiece entitled, ‘River Well’. Simply elegant in their construction, Tim’s songs paint a dreamscape worth multiple visits. Inspired by artists of all mediums, fans of Elliot Smith, The National, Damien Jurado and Bon Iver will enjoy the music of Tim Pourbaix.
Lovechild is a rock & roll band from New York City, consisting of frontman and songwriter, Leo Liebeskind, lead guitarist Aaron Mones, bassist and producer Wyatt Mones, and drummer Daryl Cozzi. The band has a wide range of sounds, with acoustic picking and country-tinged slide guitar licks morphing into overdriven, psychedelic jams, and slow, soulful ballads into uptempo rockers. Lovechild relies on Liebeskind's poignant and poetic lyricism and rich, nuanced vocal delivery, combined with Mones' virtuosic and tasteful lead and slide guitar playing to get their songs across. The band has been developing, changing lineups, and hitting the stage at countless venues around the New York area, while working on recordings for its first proper release.
