Born-and-bred in New York City, Fiona Silver, mesmerizes audiences with an essence of seductive charm and a captivating innocence. Silver, a pixie-sized triple threat, is a powerhouse singer, songwriter, guitarist and, “rockstar, period.” [Beautiful Savage Magazine] Her evocative artistry encompasses the doe-eyed playfulness of 1960s girl groups, and the haunting beauty of Lady Day-era jazz, along with strains of vintage soul, classic rock, and modern indie rock.
"...femme fatale, an heiress apparent to Amy Winehouse... or a modern day chanteuse given her spit and sass, Fiona Silver clearly demands immediate attention."-Paste Magazine
Bird Streets was born when songwriter John Brodeur, in need of a creative rebirth after years on the music industry margins, reached out to producer Jason Falkner (Beck, Jellyfish, Daniel Johnston) about recording some of his songs. The album yielded by this pairing is both fresh and familiar—a dynamic collection of introspective indie-rock and power-pop that draws liberally on the music of decades past without being bluntly nostalgic. The self-titled Bird Streets LP was released last August by the Los Angeles-based label Omnivore Recordings and received near-unanimous praise from fans and critics, being named to numerous of Best Of 2018 lists, and earning the project the attention of NPR Music as one of their Slingshot artists, a spotlight on emerging talent. The debut single “Betting on the Sun” received nationwide airplay on tastemaker stations like KCRW, WXPN, WFUV, and WEQX. The Bird Streets live band has recorded sessions for Daytrotter, BreakThru Radio, and Iowa Public Radio, and recently wrapped a summer tour with iconic indie rocker Juliana Hatfield.READ MORE +
